Why a U.S. Waiver Matters
Without the proper documentation, Canadians with a past record or prior inadmissibility may be denied entry to the United States. A U.S. entry waiver is issued by U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and can allow lawful entry for business, family visits, or vacations.
- Cross the border with greater confidence and fewer delays
- Reduce the risk of being turned back or facing penalties
- Travel for work training, business opportunities, or personal trips
How We Help
- Consultation & Eligibility Review: We assess your situation and explain waiver requirements in plain language.
- Fingerprinting & Records Support: RCMP-accredited digital fingerprint collection and submission through CCRTIS.
- Document Preparation Guidance: Advice on gathering court documents, police records, and supporting materials.
- Application Consulting: Professional review to help reduce errors and avoid unnecessary delays.
Who May Need a U.S. Waiver?
- Canadians or Permanent Residents with past criminal convictions
- Drug-related offences
- Offences considered “crimes involving moral turpitude” under U.S. law
- Individuals previously denied entry to the U.S.
How Applications Are Assessed
U.S. authorities review each case individually. Factors may include:
- Time since the last offence
- Nature and severity of the offence
- Work history and personal circumstances
- Purpose of travel
Waiver Duration
A U.S. entry waiver may be valid for one to five years. Before expiry, a new application is required to continue traveling.
Canadian Record Suspensions (Pardons)
A Canadian record suspension can seal your record in Canada and support employment and licensing. It is not recognized by U.S. authorities, so a U.S. entry waiver may still be required for travel to the U.S.
“Even small errors in applications can cause delays or rejections. Our role is to guide you step by step with transparency and professionalism.”
— Mitch Jessiman, RCIC
